Belize Adventure – Stay Tuned For 2022

Montana River Outfitters is partnering again this spring with Island Expeditions to provide a fishing/multisport adventure in Belize, March 4-8.  Come join us for an extraordinarily enjoyable vacation adventure that allows you to experience a 5-day getaway on a small island off the coast of Belize.  You will have a chance to enjoy a guided trip that offers many different activities, including saltwater fly or spin fishing for Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, and reef fishing.  You can choose to do a variety of different guided activities each day or spend time fishing and exploring on your own.  The staff and the tropical experience on Glovers Reef are absolutely first rate.  (Ask about the upgrade to a personal daily fishing guide.)

The Glover’s Reef Adventure allows you to explore and stay on Glover’s Atoll, a protected marine park and designated world heritage site thirty-six miles offshore of mainland Belize.

Glover’s Reef is one of the most spectacular marine environments in Belize and offers some of the best kayaking, snorkeling, fishing and diving in the Caribbean. Due to its isolation from the mainland, the waters are exceptionally clear with a rich reef ecosystem and fish that rarely see anglers.

On this remote reef adventure you will enjoy flexibility in your choice of daily guided activities.  You and your traveling companions can do things together or separately, making it ideal for families and couples of mixed abilities.

  • Paddle, kayak sail, fish or SUP as you explore this pristine group of tropical islands set within a turquoise lagoon.
  • Snorkel some of the 700 patch reefs in this thriving coral reef system.
  • Stay at our Adventure Basecamp on Southwest Caye, a 13 acre island within Glover’s Reef Marine Reserve.  Sleep in comfortable, safari style tent cabanas and dine on fresh seafood, tropical fruit, and local favorites.
  • Join our special trip departure March 4-8, 2020.
  • Price:  $1229 per person

• Itinerary Summary

Day 1 – Depart on an early morning boat charter to our Southwest Caye Adventure Basecamp. Settle into your tent cabana, then join your guides for a briefing on sea kayaking, snorkeling and tropical water safety.  Later today, paddle with your group to a nearby patch reef and start exploring some of the 700 sites on Glover’s Reef Atoll.

Day 2-4 – During your stay on Glover’s, you will have plenty of time to explore the protected lagoon, turquoise waters and coral reefs of this spectacular Marine Reserve System.  Guided activities include kayaking, Stand Up Paddleboarding, kayak sailing, snorkeling and fishing.  Another Basecamp favorite is to enjoy some ‘hammock time’ with a refreshing drink and a good book!

Day 5 – On this final day on the reef, consider getting up early to watch a beautiful Belizean sunrise.  After a hearty breakfast, you may want to get out on a paddleboard one last time before your boat arrives to transport you back to the mainland.  A picnic lunch is served at the Dangriga Operations Base, and the staff will assist you with connecting with the next leg of your journey.
